What’s a Pounce Pot?!
Imagine a little container of sandy grit ("pounce") that was used centuries ago to prepare paper to make it smoother and easier to write on—simple, practical, and incredibly helpful.

Here’s the pounce pot that I found on eBay. It’s plain, just wood and a simple design, but it’s so special to me.
