The Pounce Pot Post
Connect & Thrive
At 73 years young, the relationships I forge with others are extremely important to me and have helped to create a much more pleasurable day-to-day existence.
Sure, social connections are fun now, but they are the building blocks for our future well-being, as well. I put together a few ideas about how you might find some connections in smaller, more introvert-friendly ways. There’s room for your four-legged friends, too.
While an engraved gold pen, a sterling picture frame, or a dress watch may be typical gifts for a graduate, if you want to strengthen your relationship and increase your longevity, consider gifting an experience instead.
Because you can actively influence each of these five categories (unlike our inherited DNA, which we have zero control over), these will be five areas for you to personally take responsibility for to the best of your abilities and within your means. Even improving in just one category can have a profoundly positive impact on your life.
Friendship is good for your health. Literally.
Working on connections actually takes commitment and time; at the very least it takes communication skills.
